New and final look!

I've finally decided on the new blog layout and I hope you like it. I've been playing around with the layout over the last week and I think I've finally come to peace with this look..hehe.

If you notice, I've added some new features to the blog and also an email address for any questions or feedback to keep it more personal. Some days I wonder if I'm getting it right, but ultimately what I want out of this is to keep my readers happy, and please let me know if something's wrong. Cool? :)

dress: Sunny Girl, boots: from HongKong, vest & belt: thrifted, socks: old

Here's another outfit I wore over the weekend to the night markets. I like how versatile the white lace dress is with most pieces and accessories, and I can't seem to get enough of it. But I think I'll give this dress a bit of a rest now since I've featured it on my blog 4 times.

Have a good night everyone! I'm off to bed soon for a big day at work tomorrow (something to do with presentations, which totally creeps me out!)

p.s: please excuse my corny expressions, I must have been drawn to something in the sky!

Speed blogging

I wonder, on average how long does it take for you to write out a blog post? This doesn't include photo uploading and editing.
I have to prepare dinner in 10 minutes time, but I decided to squeeze in a little blog update and I can't help but wonder if I'm the only one who does this...cos I tend to spend very little time on my blog posts.

When I do have extra time to spare, I tend to visit other blogs and websites, which can go on for hours..hehe.

shirt: supre, denim skirt: glassons, sandals: payless, belt: thrifted, bag: vintage, ebay

I wore this over the weekend to the clothes swap. Found some neat pieces to add to my wardrobe, which I'll feature on my blog soon. I love this lazy laidback look, and its easily one of my favourite go-to outfits this summer. What do you think?

Work in Progress

I'm currently experimenting with some new headers and templates for the blog so please bear with me as things change around in the coming days. Its always good to reinvent your blog to keep it fresh, no? I'm open to feedback, ideas and suggestions so don't hesitate to leave a comment :)

Also I was reminded that this time a year ago, something happened that changed my life significantly. I joined the flickr group Wardrobe Remix and from then on, I have unashamedly taken pictures of almost every nice outfit I've worn. I know I'm dramatizing it, but because of this group, I've become more confident and creative with my dressing, experimenting with different looks and incorporating more vintage and thrifted finds in my outfits. More importantly, I've derived so much inspiration from bloggers that were a part of the group, and I eventually became a part of this wonderful blogging community through Fancy Pants.
So this is indeed a significant thing in my life, and I see myself doing this for a long time to come. Thank you Wardrobe Remix, my fellow stylish bloggers and loyal readers for keeping this going! Wouldn't have accomplished this without you! :)

To finish off nicely, I thought I'll share with you some of my very first few wardrobe remix shots from yesteryear that happen to be my all time favourites. Enjoy!

All pictures taken by my longsuffering boyfriend, so thank you darling!

Why do weekends fly by so fast?

My weekends have been FANTASTIC. I'm discovering awesome places around Sydney every weekend and it makes me fall in love with this city a little more each time :)
Needless to say, I live for the weekends. Just to be able to bask in the sun on a park bench or by the beach, visit a new mall, check out a cool vintage shop/op shop, navigate the crowds in weekend markets, dine at thai/malaysian/italian/indonesian restaurants or just simply cruising down the happening streets on a Saturday night people watching is what keeps me motivated during the week.
So when Monday comes, I'm left with satisfaction from the previous weekend, and filled with anticipation for the next, and I mentally plan and check out 7 day weather forecasts to get me excited!!

polka dot shirt & skirt: thrifted from salvos, shoes: freelance shoes, bag: vintage

I love the rich teal colour of the skirt, and the polka dots were an unexpected combination. I found both pieces at a local Salvos store and didn't think of matching them together until I took them out of the bag.

This weekend, I'm planning to head to the beach, a clothing swap event, a night market and oh, a beautiful garden wedding of a lovely couple friend. Can't wait!!!

Out and about

Sorry for the delay in announcing the winner of the last giveaway. My weekend was packed with social events and a fun relaxed date at the Royal Botanic Gardens with my boyfriend. I have some pretty pictures to share but first, the winner of the ruffle vintage dress is 'The Waves"! Congrats and I will be emailing you shortly :)

The weather was so glorious I jumped at the chance to wear my new striped chambray mini dress.

dress: Cotton On, shoes: K mart $8, necklace: antique store, purse: Glebe markets

We saw the most interesting looking tree in the gardens. Can you guess what was hanging off the tree??

BATS!!! (eek!)
My bf and I were careful not to stand directly under the tree while taking some photos....just in case.

Around this time of the year, gorgeous purple trees are a common sight in Sydney and I just love the colour of the flowers. I knew I had to snap a picture of my favourite tree the moment I saw them in the gardens.

How was your (halloween) weekend?
I'll be sure to visit your blogs right after this to check out some cool halloween costumes :)

In my shoes

I'm happy to report on my little shopping excursion today. I found two delightful new pairs of shoes, which are much needed to replace my current worn out flats. The black and white pair very much remind me of spectator pumps, and the chambray ones are just too cute to pass at only $8 bucks!

I also stumbled upon (is there such a thing when you go shopping?) an adorable stripe+chambray summer dress that I could not resist, hence the little splurge. And just for fun, I decided to take a picture of my summer scarf collection that I've organised on a hanger, rather than have them stored away like I used to. This helps me to remember to wear them more often (because I do tend to forget what scarves I have, oops).

And I love wearing new stuff right away, so I thought up an outfit to wear with my new black and white flats to a poker night party.

tee: zara, flats: freelance shoes $30, shorts: thrifted, blazer: vintage, belt: boyfriend's, bag: michael kors

This belt is my favourite even though its not mine. I just love the pattern on it, and I foresee myself borrowing this one too many times in the near future!

Oh, and you have one LAST day to enter the giveaway! I will be drawing a lucky winner the old fashioned way out of a hat tomorrow night, so stay tuned for the next post where I will announce the winner :)

keeping up

dress: vintage, gifted from BF, shoes: ebay, tights: farmers

My thoughts are all over so I'll try bullet points :

  • I've been a letdown when it comes to Mon-Fri dressing. I go to my comfort clothes of jeans and an easy top simply because my new workmates aren't fancy dressers and I don't want to attract too much attention with mine? silly me

  • I need to put more thought and creativity into this blog. My first thought is to change the header, but I'm hopeless when it comes to any form of web design. Anyone keen on offering their services? I'm happy to consider offers :)

  • Blog giveaway is a bit disappointing. Its two lovely vintage dresses up for grabs!! You have until this Saturday to enter, so don't miss out!

  • And last but certainly not least, a BIG thank you to Idee Geniale for the Beautiful Blogger Award. It certainly brightened up my day :) As part of the award, I have the honour of sharing 7 interesting facts about myself which you can read about here.

And I really wanna say, thank you all for keeping up with my blog! I really appreciate all the comments and frequent visits from you all despite my lack of updates. I promise I will try harder and make it better. BIG HUGS!
